The Car Coat has a boxy, oversized fit with dropped shoulders, deep armholes and a fully lined construction. Design details include a smart convertible collar, front and back yokes and deep welt pockets, with the option to add pocket flaps for an alternative look. The coat is finished with three large buttons.

Choose a medium to heavy weight woven fabric for the main coat, such as:

Fabric Requirements

For 140 cm (55") wide fabric:

• Main fabric: 2-2.5 m (2.25-2.75 yd)

• Lining: 1.6-2 m (1.75-2.25 yd)

• Optional contrast collar: 0.5 m (0.5 yd)

If using a fabric with a large-scale plaid, allow an additional 1 metre of fabric for pattern matching.

The contrast collar fabric is optional. If you make the entire coat from one fabric, the collar fabric is already included in the main fabric requirements.

Sizing

The Wardrobe by Me Car Coat sewing pattern is available in sizes 2XS-4XL, approximately equivalent to UK sizes 6-26 based on our standardised size chart.

For the best fit, we recommend checking both the designer's size chart and finished garment measurements before choosing your size.
